A dinosaur was discovered in Morocco and it is a predator known to paleontologists. The dinosaur’s name is Spinosaurus.
This colossal creature roamed the Earth 125 million years ago. At 60 feet tall, Spinosaurus, bigger than a Tyrannosaurus, is the largest predator to have lived in North Africa, more precisely in Morocco.
The dinosaur is known to experts thanks to the discovery of its remains in Egypt by the German paleontologist Ernst Stromer in 1915. Only the evidence for the existence of carnivores (the most complete fossils of the species) was destroyed during the Second World War. As a result, Nizar Ibrahim, a paleontologist specializing in vertebrate anatomy at the University of Chicago, had to do a decade of research to uncover the mystery.
