The Moroccan people rank first among the peoples most determined to defend their country. Muslims are also the most willing to sacrifice for their land. These are the findings of a survey conducted by Gallup International. Here are the details:
Is everyone willing to give their lives for their country? It seems an interesting question at a time of rising terrorist attacks. That is why WIN/Gallup International, an international consortium of independent researchers established in 2010, conducted an international survey to answer this question. The results are astonishing, to say the least.
According to Akhbar Al Yaoum, Moroccans are at the top of the people ready to sacrifice for their country. “93% of the Moroccans surveyed said they were ready to go to battle for their homeland,” the newspaper said. This first place in the world ranking is shared with the citizens of Fiji. The Pakistanis and Vietnamese are tied for third place in the world ranking, with 83% of them answering positively.
For their part, “the Japanese, Dutch, Belgians, and Italians are the citizens least willing to take up arms to defend their country,” reports the newspaper. Their rates are 11%, 15%, 19% and 20% respectively.
Moreover, Gallup’s work concluded that Muslims are also the most determined to sacrifice for their country. “They are 78% to affirm it”, the daily specified. Similarly, 83% of those surveyed in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) say they are ready to make this sacrifice, compared to 52% in Europe. The Gallup Institute survey also revealed that barely 61% of the people around the world are ready to fight for their homeland.
