Morocco is one of the world leaders against Coronavirus according to the Spanish press.

Indeed, Morocco is positioning itself at the “global forefront” in adopting drastic measures to curb the spread of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country, the Spanish daily “El Pais” reported on Sunday 22 March:  “Marruecos se sitúa a la vanguardia mundial en medidas de confinamiento contra el coronavirus”.

While other countries severely affected by the Coronavirus have lagged behind in taking action, Morocco has taken the initiative to take “more restrictive” measures to deal with the pandemic. It definitely has outstanding, envied and remarkable management of the Covid-19 crisis.

Morocco has declared a state of a health emergency, since Friday, March 20th, and until further notice, the publication recalls, pointing out that since that day, circulation is now subject to obtaining an exceptional travel permit from the authorities.

Since the appearance of the first cases of the pandemic in the country, the Kingdom of Morocco has suspended international air links and closed educational schools before proceeding later to the suspension of domestic flights and the ban on public and private transport between cities, except for the transport of goods and commodities.

However, the Moroccan government has announced a series of economic measures to help companies and individuals affected by these measures, the newspaper added.

Despite a reduced number of infected people, “the Moroccan authorities have not hesitated to apply radical measures” to stem the spread of the virus, writes “El Pais”.

“With this battery of measures, Morocco is at the head of the countries that have adopted the strictest containment measures in their fight against the coronavirus,” the daily observes.
